It was a tough budget as expected, with the minister performing a balancing act. Eskom continues to be the main detractor in economic growth within the country. As a result, the JSE has lagged its Global peers. While many investors expected the worst, the good news is that there are no dramatic tax changes in this year's budget and light at the end of the tunnel in the form of interest rate cuts. With the general election fast approaching, service delivery, job creation, and improving the SA GDP is of paramount importance for Government.
