Boxer - Punching above its weight
Earlier this year, parent company, Pick n Pay, announced that it will list Boxer separately on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE with a secondary listing on the A2X). The significant development follows on from Pick n Pay's recapitalisation plan to stabilise its balance sheet and restore investor confidence. The new era sets Boxer up to spread its wings and forge its own path.

FNB ETN Quarterly Update - 3Q24
The second quarter of 2024 again saw decent gains among the FNB ETN's. The Quanto ETN's (without currency exposure) outperformed the Compo ETN's because of rand strength. The experience was similar over a one-year period, with rand strength supporting improved returns in the Quanto ETN's relative to the Compo ETN's.

A brand investment strategy - Update
A brand investment strategy - Update The BrandZ Global Top 100 report was released at the end of June. The report showed that Apple maintained the honours of being the most valuable brand in the world for a third year running. Generally, brand values climbed, with the Top 100 adding 20% in brand value after a fall of 20% in the prior year. The strength of these brands is particularly impressive when considering that the Top 100 brands have gained 76% in brand value from pre-Covid levels.

RCL Foods - At the end of the Rainbow
Since 2020, RCL has been on a journey to reshape its portfolio with the main changes having been the separation of Vector Logistics and Rainbow Chicken Ltd. The sale of vector to AP Møller Capital was finalised in August 2023 and Rainbow is being unbundled to shareholders next week, at which point the realignment will be mostly complete.
