We are actively involved in Early Childhood Development (ECD) across the country, through long term sustained involvement through our ECD adoptions or Ad hoc assistance through donations and relief where assistance required, or a need is identified.
Our employees are also deeply committed to ECD, with over 1 000 ECD facilities adopted by employees alone. We have sustainable vegetable gardens planted at some facilities by employees alone. Our food security initiative provides ECD learners with a daily meal, freeing up ECD facility funds for infrastructure development.
Our partnerships have resulted in the Thrive by Five Index that assessed children aged 4 to 5 years that are enrolled in early learning programmes in the country for school readiness in key development areas for their age. This Index provides context for our efforts geared towards early childhood development in South Africa.
